What to expect

Would you like to write your name in calligraphy?

A professionally licensed teacher will teach you calligraphy, a traditional Japanese culture, in a tatami room.

You will first learn how to hold a brush, posture, and basic lines of calligraphy. After getting used to the brush, you will be able to write your own name in kanji (guess characters) and the names of famous places in Japan.

You will be guided carefully, so even if it is your first time, you can experience calligraphy without any worries.

You will be able to take home the model used on the day and the calligraphy (on half-sheets of paper) that you wrote.

In Japan, we have a culture of sitting on the floor, but in the class, you will sit on the tatami mats on the floor.

Sumi is difficult to remove from clothing and cloth. Wearing clothes that can get dirty is recommended.
