Traditional Japanese Sweets “Nerikiri” Experience with Matcha Tea

1 hour 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

Why not experience traditional Japanese culture at a kitchen studio located near Komagome in Toshima Ward, close to Ikebukuro and the beautiful Japanese garden Rikugien?

In this lesson, you can try your hand at “nerikiri” and “matcha,” two experiences that symbolize Japanese culture.

Nerikiri is a Japanese confectionery made by kneading mochi into white bean paste, expressing the beautiful and intricate designs of Japan that reflect the seasons.

Follow the instructor's detailed guidance to create your own unique nerikiri, available only during this season.

Beginners are welcome to join with confidence.

After the lesson, enjoy tasting your own nerikiri with matcha tea, immersing yourself in Japanese culture.

On your way back, be sure to explore the nearby Rikugien Garden or the old Koganei Garden to fully enjoy the unique Japanese blend of “cute,” “beauty,” and “tradition.”
