Meeting point

To visit the Monteverde Biological Reserve, park your vehicle and pay the entrance fee. Take the minibus to the trailhead to meet your guide. If you'd like Rafael Méndez to be your guide, please ask at the reception desk. This process may extend your visit by 20 to 30 minutes.

What to expect

The Monte Verde Biological Reserve is an excellent option to explore the cloud forest with a naturalist guide, a specialist in this life zone full of trees with plants, inhabiting the forest canopy these plants are known as epiphytic plants, you will find gigantic trees called Ficus strangulators full of wildlife, many of these flora and fauna are endemic or native to the place which makes them special, unique to the life zone known as tropical cloud forest. Throughout the walk the guide will accompany you all the time sharing with you all kinds of interesting and valuable information to understand this magical place. At the end of the walk, your guide will accompany you to the hummingbird garden, where you can see up to 7 species of hummingbirds.
