Visitors to the Monteverde Biological Reserve must park their vehicle in the reserve parking lot, where the reception is, where you pay admission fee and then take the transport to the entrance of the trails, accompanied by their guide Rafael Rojas. Better get there 20 minutes early.

What to expect

The Monte Verde Biological Reserve is an excellent option to explore the cloud forest with a naturalist guide, a specialist in this life zone full of trees with plants, inhabiting the forest canopy these plants are known as epiphytic plants, you will find gigantic trees called Ficus strangulators full of wildlife, many of these flora and fauna are endemic or native to the place which makes them special, unique to the life zone known as tropical cloud forest. Throughout the walk the guide will accompany you all the time sharing with you all kinds of interesting and valuable information to understand this magical place. At the end of the walk, your guide will accompany you to the hummingbird garden, where you can see up to 7 species of hummingbirds.
