The Big 5 morning safari gives guests the opportunity to enter a low vehicle density area in the Greater Kruger National Park. The reserve is private and allows guests to have close encounters with a variety of animals, including the famous Big 5.
The game drives are conducted in top spec open game viewers, which is the best way to view wildlife without the confines of a closed vehicle.
Our guides are all highly qualified and experienced, with intimate knowledge of the area and the animals that make it their home.
Coffee, tea, snacks and water is all provided during the activity.

1Kruger National Park
Guests will depart from a designated collection point in Hoedspruit. (If guests would like to be collected directly from their accommodation, they are requested to discuss this option with the Matumi Team prior to the safari) The Big 5 Morning Safari will have an estimated duration of 3.5 to 4 hours. Our guides will take you on a fantastic journey through the Big 5 wilderness. Guests will be driving in open safari vehicles and will have the chance to encounter Africa’s incredible animals up close. Guides do make use of designated radios to share animal and bird sightings with each other (this increases the chances of sightings for guests). During the safari, our guides will stop for coffee & tea and some light snacks. At these stops, guests can take a break from sitting in the vehicles. After your incredible safari, guests will return to the same designated place where the safari first departed from.
