So there are many tours to the old Tokyo area, with YANESEN being one of them. Yanesen is a combination of the areas known as Yanaka, Sendagi, and Nezu, where there was little destruction during WWII and the Tokyo Earthquake in 1923. We will be providing you with a mix of street views of old Tokyo, temples, and shrines, as Yanesen is home to over 80 shrines after they were relocated here after the Meireki Great Fire of EDO. You will sample the foods and snacks of the days gone by and experience the main entertainment of the Edo people, a form of puppet comedy. The food was also different from what you may see in Tokyo today. You will also be able to flavor some old-style confections paired with Japanese sake, something that gave rise in the Edo period. Religion, construction, history, culture, and cuisine. Not just a stroll in the park, but a real walking tour sampling old Tokyo. Compare with other tours and choose.
