This tour lets you experience Shamanism — with the context to understand what's really happening.
Begin with a 30-minute cultural introduction that goes beyond surface-level explanation. You'll understand what separates a spirit-called shaman (Gangsinmu) from a hereditary one (Sesupmu), and trace the roots of Korean shamanism from the Dangun myth through centuries of suppression to its living presence today.
Then meet a practicing shaman for a private one-hour reading — chosen based on your intention and guided by live interpretation, so you understand not just the words, but the meaning behind them.
This is not a performance. It's a rare, personal encounter with something most visitors to Korea never find.
Location Confirmation: Once your booking is placed, we will coordinate with the top-tier shaman's schedule and finalize the exact location for your session. (highly accessible via major Seoul subway stations, including Gangnam, Yeoksam, Yangjae, Suseo, Yaksu, and Gyeongbokgung.)
Your guide will give a 30-minute introduction to Korean shamanism (musok) — its roots in the Dangun myth, the concept of han, and the role of the mudang in everyday Korean life. You will then sit with a practicing shaman for a one-hour personal reading conducted through your guide's live interpretation.
