In the morning you will be picked from Vilnius and will drive to Asveja regional park where you will visit Dubingiai settlement that lies on Asveja shore, the longest lake in Lithuania. You will see Dubingiai archaeological site that is now just the ruins, but used to be one of the most important and luxurious residences in the whole Grand Duchy of Lithuania and belonged to the Radvilos, the most influential noble family in Lithuania.
Later you will reach Labanoras wood, one of the most beautiful and biggest forests in Lithuania. Here you will climb the view tower that will open a panorama of even more forests and lakes.
You will continue your tour to Paluse village - which holds the official title of the capital of Aukstaitija National Park. Then we will climb Ladakalnis hill (we Lithuanians call it mountain) to admire the panorama of 6 surrounding lakes. The hill itself has a mythological significance and it is thought to be a sacred place of the Baltic goddess Lada, the mother of the world.
Later we will stop at Ginuciai hillfort and the water mill used for grinding the grain. It is the only mill that preserved the authentic 19th century equipment and you can learn about the old days bread making process and its long journey to our tables.
We will also visit the only beekeeping museum in Lithuania where we will see the examples of ancient beehives and learn about beekeeping tradition and rites in Lithuania.
