Meet your tour guide at City Hall station and transfer to Paju, takes about 90mins by car. Imjingak is the starting point of DMZ tour. The park was built in 1972 to console those from both sides who are unable to return to their hometowns, friends and families because of the division of Korea. Next visit will be the Bunker Exhibition that actually used during the war on June 25th in a museum format. Here, you can see guns and bulletproof helmets that were used directly in the war. This program is uniquely offered by Unni Tour and not by other travel agencies. Then tour moves to The bridge of Freedom, the last bride between South and North Korea.
Tour continues to The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, where was apparently designed for a surprise attack on Seoul from North Korea. We will actually be going in the tunnel until the limited area. he South Koreans have blocked the actual Military Demarcation Line in the tunnel with three concrete barricades. Tourists can walk as far as the third barricade, and the second barricade is visible through a small window in the third. No pictures allowed. Then, we move to DMZ Theatre and Exhibition hall.
Dora Observatory is on the South Korean side of the 38th parallel. Situated on top of Dorasan (Mount Dora) in Paju, the observatory provides scenic views across the Demilitarized Zone. Visitors can see the North Korean territory through binoculars from the 304 square feet, 500-person capacity observatory. Next step will be Dorasan Station situated on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, formerly connection railway between South and North Korea. It is the last station of Gyeongui-Jungang Line currently but it is also the symbol of the hope for eventual Korean reunification. DMZ excursion concludes here and the group back to Seoul, takes about 90mins.
