Monti district, today one of the most renowned districts of the city center, was in the past the poorest part of Rome, the ancient "Subura". It became an important religious center in the Middle Ages with the contruction of many important churches, that were constantly renovated during the centuries. Here we will find one of the four major churches of Rome, Saint Mary Major, incredible mosaics and famous artists of the Renaissance and Baroque ages, like Michelangelo and Bernini.

    We will end our tour in this Church, famous for the sculpture by Michelangelo: The Moses. We will discover the history and the secretes of this statue, created for the tomb of Pope Giulius II (the one that commisioned to Michelangelo the cieling of the Sistine Chapel), indagating its enigmatic look.
