Offered in: English

This self-guided Peak District road trip is designed to help you understand how the national park fits together as one coherent journey rather than a scattered collection of viewpoints.

Instead of piecing routes together yourself, the guide connects historic towns, valleys and scenic roads into a clear touring structure that moves naturally from the White Peak’s limestone landscapes to the ridges of Hope Valley.

You can follow the full route or explore sections depending on your time. The guide also includes 7 scenic drives across the national park, revealing mountain passes, limestone gorges and reservoir landscapes where the journey itself becomes a highlight.

Rather than a fixed itinerary, the guide provides narrative context, route progression and flexible time-based planning ideas so you can adapt the experience around walking routes, weather and travel pace.

With 12 months access included, you can start planning well before your trip and return to the guide whenever you need.

What to expect

The Peak District Road Trip Guidebook is a structured multi-day journey through one of England’s most varied national park landscapes — from the limestone valleys of the White Peak to the high ridges of Hope Valley.

Covering approximately 70 miles (112 km),with flexibility for 3–10+ days. Distances are compact but contrasts are striking: stone-built market towns, riverside dales and historic estates rising into gritstone escarpments, show caves & sweeping moorland roads.

White Peak Region – Limestone dales, Derbyshire villages and historic country houses including Bakewell and Chatsworth, with riverside walks and some of the Peak District’s most photographed landscapes.

Hope Valley & Dark Peak Edge – Higher ground and dramatic ridge landscapes including Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and the village of Castleton.

Peak District Scenic Drives – A curated collection of seven scenic drives across mountain passes, limestone gorges and reservoir valleys.

Each section includes narrative introductions, route structure and time-based planning ideas.

With 12 months included, access begins from the selected booking date — choose a date that allows time for planning rather than your travel date.
