Cotswolds, England

This road trip is designed as a structured but flexible journey, combining a clear north–south spine with optional loops you can add depending on your time and interests.

Unlike fixed itineraries, this approach lets you build your own trip — from a one-day highlights drive to a multi-day experience. Each loop adds a different dimension, from classic villages and gardens to riverside towns, grand estates like Blenheim Palace, and quieter landscapes.

What to expect

Explore the Cotswolds on a flexible, self-guided road trip built around a central north–south route from Chipping Campden to Castle Combe. This 68-mile (109 km) scenic drive links iconic villages including Broadway, Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury and Tetbury, with a drive time of around 2 hours 20 minutes — giving you a clear route to follow.

In 1–2 days, follow the full spine or focus on the north for the classic Cotswolds feel. With more time, add optional loops from key points along the route. From Snowshill, explore the North Cotswolds Villages loop (around 1 hour). From Bourton-on-the-Water, head east to Blenheim Palace (around 2 hours 15 minutes) or west to Cheltenham and Sudeley Castle (around 2 hours). From Cirencester, add the Roman and lakes loop (around 1 hour 10 minutes).

All timings are driving time only, allowing you to stop, explore and add attractions at your own pace.
