What to expect

Hike for about 45 min (one way) in the jungle along the gorgeous river of ''El Tigre''. Spot some amazing wild life on the way like toucans, monkeys (possibility of howlers, white faced, spider and squirrel monkey), red macaws, roseate spoonbill, herons, parakeets, frogs, reptiles and snakes. Be surrounded by lush forest, not far from the Corcovado National Park.

Listen to the story of gold in the region on the hike up. At your final destination, I will tell you everything about the methods of artisanal gold panning (12 years experience). You will have a chance at trying the tools (bar, shovel, pan, sluice box, mask, crevice sucker) and sample for gold. Maybe you could get lucky and see something shiny in the pan!

On the way back we will stop at a natural pool so you can refresh and enjoy the nature around. Snorkel if you wish, have a snack and we will start our journey back to the village ''Dos Brazos del Rio Tigre''. Chat with the villagers or gold panners on the way, for a memorable cultural exchange and an understanding of their reality.
