Led by local host who is a 5th generation Matcha tea farmer, our guests can be a part of legacy passed down for generations. You will have a chance to visit local Matcha Farmers, invited to traditional Japanese style home to enjoy delicately crafted Matcha Lunch Set, participate in Matcha tasting and tea tasting. You will not only learn all about Matcha but also smell, taste, and even take home some of those premium Matcha from farm previously owned by the Imperial Family.

Free transportation will be provided at either JR Kizu Station or JR Kamo station by request at the time of reservation.

Your guide will meet you at the front of Wazukacha Cafe (Wazuka Tea Cafe) where you have access to free parking space, clean toilets, and local tea shop.

What to expect

We offer the opportunity for individuals to connect to this special part of rural Kyoto, a tradition of Matcha Tea Making. When you choose to book with us, we’ll bring you back to Ancient Japan through our tea tourism to experience end-to-end Matcha making from tea picking, processing, and ceremony.

You will visit 2 local Matcha Tea Farms to learn all about Matcha making processes, enjoy delicate Matcha Set meal, try Matcha tasting, hear about 800 year old tea making history, walk through Matcha Farm, and be a part of Matcha workshop.
