Start at the Royal Albert Dock, and discover the hidden symbolism in the statues there. Walk past the Three Graces where mythical Liver Birds are said to hold the city’s fate, then into the medieval streets that made Liverpool the Second City of the Empire. Stand inside the Bombed Out Church – a roofless ruin and end at the Anglican Cathedral, Britain’s largest, designed by a 22-year-old.
