    Day 1

    Marrakech – Tizi-n-Tichka Mountain Pass – Ouarzazatte – Zagora

    Zagora

    will start in the morning at 8 o'clock from your hotel or riad to climb the High Atlas mountains, passing by Tizi N-Tichka pass, to reach Pasha Glaoui Telouet Kasbah. Then, we will go to Ait Ben Haddou, crossing an ancient caravan trail, and the Ounila valley which is bounded by Berber villages. Having driven through Ouarzazate where you stop for a tasty lunch. We continue south over the Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass to Agdez. Descending from the pass you will be amazed at the view of the extensive oasis and the number of palm trees, all indicating the beginning of the Dra'a Valley with its thousands of date palms, producing an amazing 25 varieties of good dates quality. The date harvest starts in September and lasts a couple of months, so that is the best time to stop in Agdez for the freshest ones. We will continue through the Draa Valley, palm trees, and Ksours until reaching Zagora at the end of the day, where we are going to have dinner and stay the night at Riad

    Zagora - tamagrout - mhamid - erg chegaga

    Our departure will start after breakfast; to Tamgroute, by visiting the Zaouia, the old Koranic library, the pottery makers, and an undergrounded Kasbah. We will continue to M'hamid, the very gate to the desert and the end of the paved road. The midday meal will be barbecue in an oasis. Continue to the Erg Chegaga dunes (300m) with 60km of off-road driving. This route passes different features of the desert; 'erg' (dunes), 'hammada' (stony desert) and oases. These dunes are far away from civilization, in the desert proper..... and the silence and the expanse of the sand are overwhelming. Once there you can take a camel ride around the sand dunes of about an hour. You will have dinner and spend the night at Desert camps with a private tent, comfortable beds, beautiful Moroccan furniture and tastefully arranged candlelight to enhance your enjoyment of the silence and beauty

    After breakfast, our desert trip takes us west through another 90km of the desert with varying scenery: Lake Iriqui, where you are likely to experience a wide mirage in the heat, the mountains, fossils, passing by nomads living in their tents. Following the old track of "Rally Paris Dakar". Then to Foum Zguid the first village after the desert, where the paved road begins, as well as a picnic in an Oasis, to have lunch. We will continue to Ouarzazate via Taznakht town, then we will pass through the village of Amerzgan. At the end of 3-day Sahara Desert tour to Erg Chigaga from Marrakech, we will reach Marrakesh at 5 pm; by crossing Tizi-N-Tichka in our road.
