Discover the life and legacy of one of the world’s most beloved comedians, Charlie Chaplin, on a walking tour of London. Visit the birthplace of Chaplin and the area where he spent much of his childhood, living in absolute poverty. Meet your guide at Kennington Tube Station and head off through the various locations that played their part in Chaplin’s boyhood and how they influenced his future career. Some locations have old cobbled streets so please wear comfortable footwear. Take a short bus journey across the River Thames, towards the glittering West End, filled with famous theatres and glamorous hotels that played a prominent part in Chaplin’s career and adult life. Finish in the park at Leicester Square, in central London, surrounded by iconic cinemas. Since Chaplin’s birth and death, London has been destroyed and rebuilt many times, so some featured locations will not be the original buildings they once were.
