"Devil's Fist" - The Oldest Rock in Hong Kong
About 400 million years ago, sediments accumulated in an estuary delta formed sedimentary rocks. "Devil's Fist" in Bluff Head has been weathered for millions of years, resembling human fingers, while its base has been eroded by waves, resembling a wrist.

"Dinosaur Island" - Port Island's Sea Danxia Landform
This island is known for its vibrant red color, especially stunning under sunlight, when the red meets the blue. The red conglomerate and sandstone, formed during the Cretaceous period, reflect a semi-desert climate from 140 million years ago. Recent dinosaur fossil discoveries have made Port Island a fascinating destination.

Hong Kong's Geological Wonders
During an island-hopping trip, you can witness a variety of rock formations with unique shapes. These natural wonders are part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, showcasing the region's rich geological history.

Disembark at Bluff Head, the Oldest Rock Region of Hong Kong from 400 million years ago, 40 minutes time to explore the mysterious red rock, featuring 3 spots. 1️⃣Bluff Head《Devil's Fist》 About 400 million years ago, sediments such as sand, silt, and mud were washed down from high places by rivers and accumulated in lowlands and rivers. Over time, the sediments were piled up layer by layer. As time went by, the sediments underneath became more and more dense. After the rock exposed to the air surface, the power of weathering shaped the "fingers" of Devil's Fist. Meanwhile, sea erosion shaped the wrist of the rock! 2️⃣Bluff Head《Bacon Rock》 Since the sedimentary rock composites of iron, which oxidise in a hot and dry climate, making the rock reddish in colour. 3️⃣Bluff Head《Sea Caves》 Sea caves here are mainly formed by the weathering effect rather than the sea erosion, as those rocks are sedimentary rock *If you are lucky enough, you may find fossils, such as Ammonite!*

Disembark at the North Bay of Port Island, 1.5 hours time to explore the magnificent red sedimentary rock with different shape, featuring 5 spots in total… 4️⃣Port Island《Red Beach》 5️⃣Port Island《Red Ridge》 6️⃣Port Island《Sheep's Horn Rock》 7️⃣Port Island《Dam Cliff》 8️⃣Port Island《Cobra Rock》 How the Shape of the Rock in Port Island is Formed? Since each layer of sedimentary rock has different compositions, it has different resistance to weathering and erosion. The main rock could be find here are sandstone, siltstone and conglomerate rock Why the Rock in Port Island is Red? About 140 million years ago, the climate was extremely dry and affected by groundwater, the iron in the rock formations oxidized and turned red. Subsequently, the sedimentary rock layers accumulated on the sea floor were exposed to the surface due to the pushing of plate movements. Therefore, the rocks we saw in Port Island (Red Island) and Devil’s Fist were a fiery pink color
