Depart from Los Angeles this morning, and begin our pleasant journey. Pass through Mojave Desert and enjoy the barren landscape decorated by Joshua trees! Arrive in Las Vegas at noon. After lunch in Las Vegas, we continue our journey to St. George Utah, and stay overnight.

Lower Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend - Salt Lake City

Lower Antelope Canyon
Lower Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo Land east of Page, Arizona. Upon arrival at the Lower Antelope Canyon, you will be able to get off the truck and step into the desert and enter the amazing desert world. The tour guides will explain some geology, culture, history and insights about the place. By walking through the sandstone walls of the Lower Antelope Canyon, you will be immersed in its beauty. The entrance ticket for this attraction is not included in the tour fee. Please ask the tour guide to arrange the purchase ticket. Please note that this attraction requires going up and down stairs, and in order to allow enough time for taking photos, some intervals between visitors need to be maintained. As a result, the waiting time might be longer.

Horseshoe Bend
Horseshoe Bend has been featured as a landmark for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Canyon National Park, the Cities of Page AZ, Kanab UT, St George UT, and the Navajo Nation. Boundary lines are very close in some places. About nine miles downstream is where Grand Canyon National Park truly begins. A social media darling, Horseshoe Bend has become one of the most recognized and visited places in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

West Thumb Geyser Basin
The West Thumb Geyser Basin is situated at the western edge of a large bay along the shores of Yellowstone Lake. This area is known as the West Thumb caldera which was formed by a volcanic eruption that took place 174,000 years ago. This bay is actually a smaller caldera within the larger Yellowstone caldera. The resulting caldera filled with water, creating the bay.

Norris Geyser Basin
Norris Geyser Basin, named after an early superintendent of Yellowstone National Park, is considered the hottest geyser basin in the park. The stark, barren landscape of Porcelain Basin is shaped by its highly acidic environment, where harsh conditions make it difficult for plants, algae, and bacteria to survive. Instead, the basin’s vivid colors come from mineral oxides—shades of pink, red, and orange from iron oxides, and yellows from sulfur and iron sulfates. The world’s largest geyser is also found here. Steamboat Geyser lies dormant for long periods, but when it erupts, it unleashes towering jets of water that can reach nearly 380 feet, creating a truly spectacular display.

Upper Falls
The Upper Falls is located about 400 meters upstream from the larger Lower Yellowstone Falls. The water plunges vertically down a volcanic cliff, dropping 33 meters. Over hundreds of years, the once-rugged volcanic rocks at the base of the falls have been worn smooth by the relentless force of the cascading water.

Artist Point
The scenery here is especially breathtaking. The canyon plunges more than 300 feet deep, its walls dominated by shades of yellow interwoven with black, red, and pink, and punctuated by clusters of green pine trees. The colors blend in harmony rather than chaos, resembling the spread of a peacock’s tail or the delicate pointillism of a romantic painter layering hues upon the same canvas.

Yellowstone Geysers - Mud Volcano Area
Located in the eastern part of Yellowstone National Park, near the northern shore of Yellowstone Lake, this area is known for its unique mud volcanoes. Unlike typical geysers, most features here erupt mud rather than water, and each eruption causes the ground to tremble. Fountain Paint Pot
The Paint Pots are a type of mud fountain formed when acidic hot springs dissolve mineral-rich rocks into thick mud. Because the muddy water is highly viscous, the slow rise and burst of bubbles can be clearly observed. The dried mud surrounding the fountain resembles cracked oil paint, making the feature appear like a pot of water mixed with pigments. It looks like a painter’s canvas, overflowing with rich, colorful tones.

Grand Prismatic Spring
Also known as the Seven Color Pool, this is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world. Measuring approximately 75 to 91 meters in width and 49 meters in depth, it releases nearly 2,000 liters of 71°C hot water every minute. What makes the Grand Prismatic Spring truly remarkable is its seasonal color transformation. In spring, the pool shifts from emerald green to golden orange-red, a result of algae and pigment-producing bacteria thriving in the mineral-rich water. By midsummer, lower chlorophyll levels cause the water to glow in brilliant shades of orange, red, and yellow. In winter, reduced sunlight prompts these microorganisms to produce more chlorophyll, muting the carotenoid colors and giving the spring a deep, dark green appearance.

Old Faithful
Old Faithful Geyser is named for its remarkably consistent and predictable eruptions. It currently erupts approximately every 60 to 110 minutes, with each eruption lasting four to five minutes. During an eruption, a towering column of water shoots more than 40 meters into the air, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The Old Faithful Visitor Center posts eruption schedules in advance, allowing visitors to plan ahead and enjoy the show with confidence.

Great Salt Lake
Great Salt Lake, lake in northern Utah, U.S., the largest inland body of salt water in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most saline inland bodies of water in the world. The lake is fed by the Bear, Weber, and Jordan rivers and has no outlet. The lake has fluctuated greatly in size, depending on the rates of evaporation and the flow of the rivers that feed it. Like the Dead Sea, the Great Salt Lake exists within an arid environment and has chemical characteristics like that of the oceans. However, it has a much greater salinity than the oceans, since natural evaporation exceeds the supply of water from the rivers feeding the lake.

Utah State Capitol
The Utah State Capitol is the house of government for the U.S. state of Utah. The building houses the chambers and offices of the Utah State Legislature, the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, the State Auditor and their staffs. The capital is the main building of the Utah State Capitol Complex, which is located on Capitol Hill, overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. The Neoclassical revival, Corinthian style building was designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting and built between 1912 and 1916. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Seven Magic Mountains
Across the desert south of Las Vegas, Nevada, rises a large, colorful anomaly. Seven colossal stone forms defy gravity with their teetering formations. Mediating between geological formations and abstract compositions, Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains consists of locally sourced limestone boulders stacked vertically in groups ranging between three and six. Each stone boasts a different fluorescent color, and each individual totem stands between thirty and thirty-five feet high. Barstow Outlets is located in the desert, on the only way from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. There are not many first-tier luxury brands in this Outlets, but mostly second tier brands, especially local brands within the States. The collections are relatively complete and concentrated, and the service is also quite good, making it a comfortable shopping experience to close out the day.
