Operating Schedule: 16:30 Meet at Etchujima Pier Please arrive at the meeting point on time. 17:00 Yakatabune River Cruise (Sukiyaki Dinner + Live Shamisen Performance) Board a traditional Yakatabune boat and enjoy a sukiyaki dinner while watching a live shamisen performance on Tokyo Bay. 18:50 Tsukiji Outer Market (60 minutes) Tsukiji was once the site of one of the world’s greatest fish markets, handling over 2,000 tons of fresh seafood a day at its peak. Although the inner market’s wholesale operations and famous tuna auctions were relocated to Toyosu Market in October 2018, the Tsukiji Outer Market remains a vibrant hub, filled with food vendors, kitchenware shops, and some of Tokyo’s best restaurants. Visitors can explore the bustling alleyways lined with stalls selling fresh produce and culinary tools, join a guided tour or take part in a sushi-making workshop, and sample some of the freshest sushi and seafood available. Be sure to also try a variety of street snacks, from omelettes to rice balls, for a true taste of the market’s lively food scene. 19:50 Tokyo Tower Main Deck, 150m (60 minutes) Seeing the bold orange and white stripes of Tokyo Tower, you know you have finally arrived in metropolitan Tokyo. Its modernist design is striking when illuminated at night, while the real excitement comes from ascending the tower to take in the dynamic urban panorama. Constructed in 1958 and inspired by the Eiffel Tower, Tokyo Tower was built to meet the growing broadcasting needs of the Tokyo area following the launch of NHK, Japan’s national broadcaster, in 1953.
