    Your local guide will wait for you next to the meteorological post, holding a “Zagreb Stories” sign. You’ll get a short introduction into what to expect and a few fun facts about this location.

    Take a look at the model of the city for a clearer picture of the landscape. It’s a bronze cast and it depicts the center of the city. You will also see the word "welcome" written in many languages - that's how the sculpture got its name.

    Cathedral of Zagreb

    Welcome to Kaptol hill, one of the 2 hills that form the medieval core of Zagreb: Kaptol and Gradec. Admire the beautiful cathedral and hear the story about the founding of Zagreb and the “church hill” Kaptol.

    We'll make a short stop at Bloody Bridge Street. It used to be a bridge and today it's a charming street. It's time for a story about how such a lovely street got such a bloody name.

    Stone Gate

    We'll arrive to the Stone Gate, an entrance to the medieval Gradec hill. As we pass through, you will hear a story about a miracle. We’ll also see Zagreb’s first pharmacy.

    St. Mark's Square

    Visit the heart of the medieval Gradec hill. This was the place where all the most important things in the town used to happen. Today it is a home to the most colorful church roof, and the Parliament and Government buildings.

    Ćirilometodska ulica

    This street is named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, Christian saints and missionaries. There are so many interesting stories in one street: story about the alphabet, theater, witches, art, marriage…

    Church of St. Catherine

    We'll make a short stop at the Church of St. Catherine. It is a beautiful church known for its Baroque stucco decorations and painted ceiling.

    Lotrscak Tower

    Part of the original defensive walls from the 13th century with an interesting origin story. Don’t be scared if you hear a cannon fire at noon – it happens every day and we’ll be there just on time to see and hear it!

    Funicular - Downtown

    The funicular has become one of the symbols of Zagreb. It is called "Uspinjača" and it connects the Upper and Lower Town. Time to enjoy the shortest funicular ride in the world!

    We will end our tour at Zagreb’s main square, the heart of modern-day Zagreb. You'll hear a story about how Zagreb got its name and learn about a few local customs. Your guide will be happy to give you some recommendations for the rest of your time in Zagreb.
