Meeting and pickup
Please wait at the entrance of your accommodation at the time specified by us when we reach out to confirm the last details of your booking (15 minutes is our maximum waiting time, after you'll be considered a no-show). We'll arrive in a grey van with our logo on its sides. Please note that pickups at Ribeira Grande will be charged an extra fee of 10€ at the end of this tour, for each booking not by person.
Near the Emigrant Statue (the one with the family holding hands), right in front of the São Brás fort and next to Campo São Francisco.

We'll start this tour by sightseeing some of the beautiful coastline landscapes and the islet of Vila Franca do Campo while we drive towards Furnas. This trip takes around 45 min. from Ponta Delgada.

The “Lagoa das Furnas” (Furnas Lagoon), naturally nestled within a caldera (dormant volcano) stands out as a prominent attraction for tourists, hikers, biologists, and bird watchers alike, owing to its diverse array of endemic and invasive flora and fauna species freely roaming this area (non-dangerous). Being an area so rich in geo thermal activity, here the locals improvised an unique way of taking advantage of this for cooking an unique portuguese dish: the "Cozido das Furnas", a mix of meats, vegetables and tubers that are slowly cooked underground for 6-7 hours.

As part of the gastronomical experience of this tour we'll try the aforementioned geo-cooked stew at a traditional local restaurant with Starter, Main Dish, Drinks, Dessert and Coffee included in the menu (vegetarian option available and alternative dishes for children with pre-warning).

- Sip your body and soul into Dona Beija hot springs pools, at a temperature of around 39ºC (102ºF) surrounded by a scenario of splendid vegetation and enriched with bird sounds, a moment of relaxation and contemplation that'll take your mind off the daily routine and worries. The rich ferrous waters are known as a great skin care but not suitable for dyed hairs. Admittance NOT included Some medical conditions may be incompatible with thermal baths, please consult with your physician before participating.

Take a short walk through the Alameda Garden right next to the Furnas center, embrace the environment around the sweet water streamlet, observe an hidden aquarium and a human-made waterfall.

We'll finish off our tour admiring the impressive boiling water pools at Furnas during the night time: a smoke and lights show given by nature awaits you, an unique experience in Azores. Have a taste of the rich mineral waters springs and enjoy a local homemade sweet delicacy.

We'll drive back through the northern side of the island in a safe and relaxed environment. During this trip, that'll take around 40 min., you'll be able to have a nap and/or receive suggestions for other places to visit and to do around the island.

- The remaining time of the Tour (90 minutes difference) is the minimum time driving between our destinations. Don't worry we'll have plenty to see even while driving.
- Please bring swimwear and a bathing towel for the hot springs baths. If you wish for a locker there's a 2€ extra fee on site and for hot water showers there's a 1€ fee, these extras are not included on the tour price.
- Any options chosen outside the menu for dinner will be charged separately.
- The entrance to the "Lagoa das Furnas" is charged 3€ for non-residents, this fee is only charged if the box office is open at time of arrival to the lagoon.
- Please consult with your health physician before participating in thermal baths.
