Experience early Dutch New York in Brooklyn and Queens

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

I have lived in both Amsterdam and New York City and speak both Dutch and English, which gives me an extra advantage in reading the history of the Dutch settlement of New Amsterdam in great richness and context. I also am an archaeology undergraduate.

This is ironically the original site of Fort Amsterdam. Hear the story of how the early settlers arrived in Lower Manhattan, built fortifications and lived with the existing people. (Note: We are not entering the museum, it is just an important location as part of the journey to learn about early New Amsterdam)
