We offer a visit to Kukes, the nearest Albanian city. It will last two hrs longer.
Optionally, you can ask for visits to the city of Peja, stopping by the famous Peja Patriarchi and Visoki Decani. The Rugova Canyon, Springs of White Drini River, and Slipping Beauty Cave, Peja Brewery, and Old Bazaar. These are just some of the attractions that you can explore if you want to.
Please wait in the hotel's lobby for our driver/tour guide to arrive. He will be wearing a tour guide license tag. In addition, he will ask for you at the reception. If you request a different picking-up point, accessible by car/minivan, you will see the logo of "Daily Tours from Skopje" on both doors of the vehicle. kindly wait 15 extra minutes in case of traffic.
The Entry fee is 2 Euros per person, kids 1 Euro. There is a local English-speaking guide. In case of crowd, our guide will assist. Currently ongoing works. It is rich with stalactites and stalagmites. The Marble Cave, known as Gadime Cave, is a karstic limestone cave in the village of Gadime e Ulët, close to the municipality of Lipjan in Kosovo. Much of it is still unexplored. The cave was found in 1966 by a villager, Ahmet Asllani, working on his garden. Gadime Cave stands within the marble limestones belonging to the Mesozoic era. Over time, the marble was cracking caused by the tectonic shifts and erosions. The total length of the cave is 1.260 m, and its area is 56.25 ha.
The next stop is one of the nices orthodox churches in the Balkans. The Monastery of Gracanica, a stunning example of Serbian medieval architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The custos is very knowlegable, telling faxtful story about arhitecture, history and fresco painting of the Monastery. There is not entry fee.
The next stop is Pristina, the capital and largest city of Kosovo. It is the administrative center of the eponymous municipality and district. We provide a walking tour through the city, stopping by (not only) the following remarkable spots: - City Centre where you will see the state institutions, main square, National Theatre, Mother Theresa Street. - The National Library was built in the early 80s' with a brilliant architectural style, hosting thousands of books and documents. - Newborn monument dedicated to the independence of Kosova. It changes colors every year. It stands in front of the Palace of Youth and Sports. - Mather Theresa Cathedral, The Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Pristina, Kosovo. - Bill Clinton's Statue was built as a gratitude for his support for Kosovo.
The next stop is the city of Prizren. Prizren is the second most populous city of Kosovo. It is located on the banks of the Bistrica River, between the foothills of the Sharr Mountains in southern Kosovo. Prizren has an oceanic climate under the influence of the surrounding mountains. Prizren is the historical capital of the country. While walking through the pawed streets we will stop by: - The League of Prizren Memorial. The League was an Albanian political organization founded on June 10, 1878, in the old town of Prizren in the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. - Sinan Pasha's Mosque was built in 1615 by Sofi Sinan Pasha, bey of Budim. The mosque overlooks the main street of Prizren and is a dominant feature in the town's skyline. - Prizren Fortress overlooks the Prizren River that flows through Prizren, which developed around the fortress.
Kukës is a city in the Republic of Albania. The city is the capital of the surrounding municipality of Kukës and county of Kukës, one of 12 constituent counties of the republic. It spans 8.2 square kilometres and had a total population of 16,719 people as of 2011.
Your journey begins at the Patriarchate of Peć. As you enter this UNESCO World Heritage site, you'll immediately be struck by the tranquil atmosphere and the ancient architecture. Focus your time on the main church complex, which actually comprises several interconnected medieval churches. Inside, marvel at the incredible frescoes that adorn almost every surface. These vibrant murals, some dating back to the 13th century, depict biblical scenes, saints, and historical figures with remarkable detail and intensity. Notice the distinct Byzantine influences and the sheer volume of artwork. Take a few moments to absorb the spiritual significance of this historic seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church. You might also spot the ancient mulberry tree in the courtyard, a silent witness to centuries of history. A short drive will then bring you to the majestic Visoki Dečani Monastery, another essential UNESCO World Heritage site.
