Welcome to a relaxing Japanese tea experience in the heart of Shibuya, led by a friendly and knowledgeable local instructor.
In this welcoming workshop, you will be introduced to one of Japan’s most iconic cultural traditions in an easy and enjoyable way. Along with preparing your own matcha, you will also brew and taste three other popular Japanese teas while learning the basic etiquette, techniques, and cultural meaning behind each one. Traditional wagashi sweets are also included, making the experience even more authentic and memorable.
Perfect for beginners, this hands-on experience is a calm and enjoyable way to discover Japanese culture and explore new flavors you will not forget.

Meeting and pickup
Welcome! Please wait at the entrance of the Jonan Building. The entrance is gray-toned, and you’ll see the building name clearly displayed there. Your instructor will come meet you right in front of the building, so just relax and wait at the entrance—we’ll find you!
What to expect
Led by a friendly and knowledgeable Japanese instructor, this one-hour experience offers a calm and memorable introduction to the tea ceremony and its cultural meaning. You will learn the basic etiquette and techniques while preparing your own matcha with step-by-step guidance. In addition to matcha, you will also taste several traditional Japanese teas and discover the unique flavors and character of each one.
This hands-on experience is perfect for travelers who want to enjoy Japanese culture in a more personal and relaxing way. During the session, the instructor will also take photos for you. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let them know.
