What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Welcome! Please wait at the entrance of the Jonan Building. The entrance is gray-toned, and you’ll see the building name clearly displayed there. Your instructor will come meet you right in front of the building, so just relax and wait at the entrance—we’ll find you!
What to expect
A knowledgeable but super friendly Japanese instructor will greet you and share fun, easy-to-follow stories about calligraphy and its history!
Are you ready to try it yourself? You’ll start by making your own ink, then enjoy practicing the basic movements at an easy, relaxed pace.
After that, you’ll choose one kanji, practice it a few times, and finally create your own piece on traditional paper to take home as a souvenir!
During the experience, the instructor will happily take lots of photos for you. If you’d rather not be photographed, just let them know—totally no problem!
