What to expect

Step into a peaceful traditional room in the heart of Shibuya and enjoy a private Japanese calligraphy experience for beginners.

Led by a friendly local instructor, this relaxing workshop introduces you to the beauty and history of calligraphy in an easy-to-follow way. You’ll begin by making your own ink, then practice basic brush movements at a comfortable pace. Once you’re ready, you’ll choose a kanji character, practice it, and create your own final piece on traditional paper to take home as a special souvenir.

This private experience lets you enjoy Japanese culture in a calm and personal setting while learning at your own pace. During the session, your instructor will also be happy to take photos for you. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let them know.
