    London’s most haunted pub. Built on the spot of the old Newgate prison and across from the old Bailey and Death Row, this pub is brimming with history.

    The Law Court that has dealt with some of London’s most infamous killers.

    Ye Olde Mitre

    London’s hidden gem. Nestled away, this pub has been standing for centuries! This pub was spared the great fire by just a hair as it was outside London’s walls. Built around the cherry tree Sir Chris Hatton and Queen Elizabeth the 1st danced, this pubs history is centuries old (1546, the tree supports the front corner of the pub still).

    Next time you look up the meaning of a word or a synonym or antonym, give a small thanks to Dr. Samuel Johnson, the man who wrote the first comprehensive dictionary! He lived here with his cat Hodge, who is immortalised in a charming statue.
