In Assisi, you will explore some of Christianity's most venerated places: • The Basilica of San Francesco, decorated with Giotto's masterpiece frescoes that bring the saint's stories to life. • The serene basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where the venerated San Carlo is located. • The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which houses the Porziuncola, the cradle of the Franciscan Order. In Cascia you will visit the Sanctuary of Santa Rita, the saint of impossible causes, where you can live moments of deep devotion and be inspired by her enduring miracles. The journey from Rome to Umbria, passing through Cascia and Assisi, is simply magnificent. The scenic landscapes alone are a breathtaking part of the experience. Along the way, you will see imposing trees of all shapes and heights, each of which is a natural work of art. They almost look like Gothic spires, as if they worship the sky.
