In this intimate one-hour workshop, you’ll design and craft your own pair of wooden chopsticks under the guidance of a local artisan, using time-honored tools and methods passed down through generations.
The experience begins with an introduction to the history and symbolism of chopsticks in Japanese culture. As you carefully carve and polish your chopsticks, you’ll come to understand how each detail—shape, balance, and texture—reflects the Japanese philosophy of harmony and simplicity.

Meeting and pickup
The workshop is located on the 3rd floor (Room 302) of the building called 縁 (EN) Chopsticks and Crafts Workshop. The building is located across the street from a ramen restaurant.
