SOBAGIRI-RAKUJYO is an activity shop where visitors can experience making ramen noodles, a popular Japanese food, in an authentic way.

Unlike cheap cooking experiences that merely combine commercial products, this experience is unique to Kappabashi, the town of kitchen knives, and uses a large kitchen knife specially designed for noodle making to try your hand at thinly slicing noodles without using any machinery, applying the soba-soba slicing technique that has been used since the Edo period.

An original systematic tool that completes such a traditional experience in just 30 minutes.
After making the noodles, you can choose your favorite flavor and experience toppings at your seat.

RAKUJYO offers both ramen and soba, so even if there is someone in your group who does not like wheat flour, you can switch to a soba making experience using 100% buckwheat flour.

Come on, enjoy this noodle-making experience that everyone from children to adults can enjoy! BOOK NOW!

What to expect

This is a workshop based on a completely new concept.
Our shop is not exclusively for foreigners; it is also popular with Japanese customers, so you may experience the workshop together with local participants.

Using the highest-quality wheat flour from Hokkaido and Tokyo’s delicious tap water, you will learn a patent-level technique to make chewy, smooth noodles in just 30 minutes—completely by hand without using electricity.

Each person uses one table to make one portion of noodles, and up to six people can participate in one session.

There is one instructor. Since many Japanese guests also join, the lecture is mainly in Japanese, but translation speakers (English, French, German, Korean, etc.) are used for support.

Your handmade noodles will be paired with the special soup I prepare.
If you are interested, I may even secretly share the basic idea of the soup recipe.
With premium Japanese ingredients and days of aging, replicating this flavor depends entirely on your passion.

Make a reservation and join us—I promise it will become one of the highlights of your trip to Tokyo, and even Japan.
