We will leave the Historic Center of Oaxaca de Juárez to head to Teotitlan del Valle.
Our second stop will be Santiago Matatlán, the Mezcal Capital of the World, where you will be part of the process of making the mezcal, cut agave, taste cooked maguey, package your own bottle and get to know our matured mezcal cava.
But the most amazing thing hardly comes, and it is our tasting of more than 12 different Mezcales. Any of you like it? We can try it again.

And finally, we will visit the maguey/agave fields aboard a barrel-shaped truck, along the way we will talk about its cultivation, varieties, and discover why it is such a noble plant. You will taste other drinks such as: pulque, cured, mead and tepache. You take care of enjoying and taking photographs, that teach you and have fun we will take care of.

Pickup details:

We will talk to the customer by cell phone or send whatsapp message to tell them that we are in the Hotel Lobby or a specific point of the hotel. And we will indicate type of van and plates that the customer will pick up.

We will pick them up at the Mal de Amor office and shop. 20 meters away is the Shoe Store la Luna and opposite the pharmacy of El Ahorro.

What to expect

Our first stop will be in Teotitlán del Valle, an emblematic place where you will know the artisan process behind the making of traditional shell candles and woollen mats, witnesses of generations of history. Let's go into the world of mezcal. Our second point will be a tour of magueyero roads, raw material for the production of mezcal, aboard a mobile barrel. You will go down to plantations, perform rituals and visit a pulqueria where you will taste Pulque, Curados, Mead and Tepache. In the third point: In the Mezcal Artesanal distillery we will explain and participate in the process of production and packaging of mezcal, we will visit a ripening winery. Fourth Point: Tasting of 10 different artisanal mezcals and their characteristics, we will show you how to taste a mezcal, information about Designation of Origin, Categories, Classes, diversity of agaves that are used to make it.
