After your visit to Lecce, your guide will accompany you to Brindisi, the birthplace of the Roman poet Virgil, one of ancient Rome’s greatest writers and the author of the Aeneid, an epic poem that became a cornerstone of Roman culture. Brindisi is a beautiful coastal town, renowned for its ancient harbor marked by monumental Roman columns, where the Appian Way and the Trajan Way—two of the most important roads of the Roman Empire—met before continuing toward the Holy Land. You will explore the historic old town, including a small archaeological area over which the Teatro Verdi was built. At the end of the visit, your guide will escort you back to your accommodation.
