Try scuba diving in Chania with a beginner-friendly experience and a maximum of just 2 participants per instructor. No previous scuba diving experience is required, so you can discover the underwater world at your own pace with plenty of personal attention.
Your experience includes full scuba equipment, a thorough briefing, shallow-water skills practice and a guided open-water dive with a PADI Instructor.
We usually dive at Koutalas, a sheltered bay and natural nursery for Mediterranean marine life, where you may encounter octopus, lionfish, moray eels, scorpionfish and colourful schools of fish.
Underwater photos and videos are included at no extra cost. We edit them after your dive and send them to you the same day, giving you a ready-to-share memory of your first scuba experience.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Please wait outside the main entrance of your accommodation or at the agreed pickup point. We will confirm your exact pickup time and location after booking. Please be ready and waiting at the agreed location at the confirmed time.
Meet at Kefi Divers in Almyrida. We are located on the main road, with plenty of free parking nearby. The dive centre is also approximately 200 metres from the Almyrida bus stop, with bus connections from Chania. Our team will be waiting to welcome you at the dive centre.
What to expect
We'll then travel together to the dive site, usually Koutalas, a sheltered bay rich in Mediterranean marine life.
You'll enter gradually from the shore, get comfortable breathing through the regulator and practise essential scuba skills in shallow water before beginning your dive.
Once comfortable, you'll explore underwater alongside your instructor. First-time divers generally spend around 35–45 minutes underwater, depending on individual air consumption. The dive is adapted to your comfort and ability, with a maximum depth of 12 metres.
Look out for marine life including octopus, lionfish, moray eels, scorpionfish and colourful schools of fish. With a maximum of 2 participants per instructor, you'll receive plenty of personal attention throughout.
Underwater photos and videos are included at no extra cost, edited and sent to you the same day.
After diving, we'll return together to the dive centre in Almyrida.
