30-Minute Yellowstone Seismic Scenic Flight from West Yellowstone

30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

Over 60 years ago, a powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake reshaped the Yellowstone region. Massive landslides blocked rivers, destroyed roads and buildings, and caused damage nearly 50 miles from the epicenter. In the decades since, the landscape has transformed—forming what is now Earthquake Lake, rebuilding infrastructure, and creating striking scenery best appreciated from above.

On this scenic flight over the historic epicenter of the 1959 Yellowstone earthquake, enjoy rare aerial views of one of the most significant seismic events in North American history. From the air, you’ll see the dramatic terrain shaped by tectonic forces, along with sweeping views of lakes, winding rivers, rugged mountains, and vast wilderness that define this remarkable region.
