Let’s walk along the northern wall of the palace and look both outside and inside, discovering the sophisticated defensive mechanism of the double gates leading into the emperor’s residence, and observing the transformation from a mythological pagan city into a Christian and medieval one, where 2,000-year-old stone still tells the story of history.
The Middle Ages begin with the arrival of the Croats, and we will talk about the curse of a Croatian king, the attacks of the Venetians and the Ottomans, and modern history reflected in the architectural changes of the city.
