Join us for this 3-hour long food tour across one of the most beautiful Basque towns: San Sebastian. You will have a delicious tapas tour in at least 4 stops and at the end you will have eaten the equivalent of a full meal. All food and drinks are included as described! Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described may change according to the season and the availabilities of our partners.
You will start your culinary adventure in front of the city hall, in the heart of San Sebastian. You will meet your local expert right in front of this majestic building, that used to be a Casino when it was built at first, in 1882. Then you will head to the first stop to try the first ever-invented Pintxo! This pintxo consists of three simple yet flavorful components: a green guindilla pepper, a briny anchovy, and a tart green olive. Skewered together, these ingredients create a harmonious blend of spicy, salty, and tangy flavors.
Konstituzio Plaza is located right in the center of the Old Town and it's surrounded by XIX century buildings and a rectangular porch, under which you will find bars, pubs and restaurants where locals enjoy local cuisine and spend their time together. Right behind the square you will find a delicious boutique, specialized in one of the most popular Spanish ingredients: Jamón. Enjoy a tasting of traditional Spanish ham, such as Jamón de Cebo. Often enjoyed as part of a tapas spread, these cold cuts pair wonderfully with crusty bread and a glass of wine, making them a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
After a stroll around the old town, also known as Casco Viejo, enjoy a selection of local gourmet pintxos and discover the flavours of Basque Country! All our Pintxos are paired with traditional Basque wine and liquors such as cider, txakoli wine, red wine from the region of Rioja and Patxaran, the most typical Basque sloe berry liquor.
We will end our food tour near what is thought to be the oldest church in town, built in the early XVI century in Basque Gothic style. In an eatery near this architectural masterpiece, you will try the famous Basque cheesecake. It's a true symbol of the Basque Country. This cheesecake is very different to American cheesecake. It is very creamy, almost like custard and it is burnt on the outside, which adds a bit of caramel flavour to it.
