Create your own Jewellery in Florence

Have you visited the Uffizi and noticed the fine gold mesh that Eleonora di Toledo, the Duchess of Florence, wears across her shoulders in Bronzino's famous portrait? That delicate net is called reticella d'oro. It was crafted using a wire-knitted technique that traces back to the goldsmiths of ancient Greece and Byzantium.

In this workshop, I will teach you that same technique. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the intricate process, from design to creation, using silver or gold plated wire and gemstones.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a beautiful piece of jewelry to take home that is proudly made by your own hands in Florence, using a technique that once adorned the women of the Renaissance court.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore an unusual jewellery technique.

Details: You have the option to choose between a necklace, earrings, or bracelet. All materials and tools, including pliers, metal wire, gemstones, and shaping tools, will be provided. Spaces are limited.
