    Kensington Gardens

The starting point of our tour is the exquisite Italian Gardens, built by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in the north-east corner of the park, which is easily reached by tube, bus and taxi. From there, we follow the banks of the Long Water to the enchanting statue of Peter Pan and the summer house of Queen Caroline. Then it's on through the grand avenues of the gardens to the delightful Elfin Oak, carved with 74 colourful figures, outside the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground, before exploring the grounds of Kensington Palace and its hidden sunken garden. We then skirt the edge of the Round Pond, discover the bandstand (if you're lucky, you might hear a free concert!), stop by an ancient well, and stroll along the beautiful South Flower Walk to end our tour at the stupendous Albert Memorial, still shimmering with gold and colour 150 years after its construction. A brilliant way to explore this world-famous park and discover all its marvellous sights and hidden jewels.
