The meeting point is at the Main Train Station in Bishkek (Prospekt Erkindik 1). Look for the white bus on the west side of the station entrance, where your guide will be waiting.
Meet your guide and fellow travelers at 8:00 AM at the designated meeting point in Bishkek. After a short introduction, board a comfortable minibus and begin your journey toward the south shore of Issyk Kul, passing through scenic landscapes.
The first stop is Burana Tower, a historic Silk Road minaret dating back to the 11th century. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the valley, explore the open-air museum of ancient stone balbals (carvings), and learn about the tower’s history from your guide. This stop offers a fascinating glimpse into Kyrgyzstan’s rich cultural past.
Continue to Konorchek Canyons, famous for their towering red rock formations. Enjoy a guided hike through the winding trails, with stops for breathtaking views and photo opportunities. The moderate hike takes about 2.5–3 hours round trip, with some slightly challenging sections where the guide and group members will assist as needed.
Arriving in Bokonbaevo, meet a local eagle hunter who will introduce you to the ancient Kyrgyz tradition of eagle show(training eagles on how they hunt). Watch as the trained golden eagle demonstrates its skills and learn about the deep cultural significance of this practice.
In the evening, arrive in Tong village, where you’ll check into a traditional yurt camp by Issyk Kul Lake. Relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before sitting down to a delicious home-cooked Kyrgyz dinner. Spend the night in your cozy yurt, immersing yourself in nomadic traditions and the beauty of the region.
Wake up to fresh mountain air and enjoy a traditional Kyrgyz breakfast at the yurt camp. After breakfast, you can choose an optional horseback riding experience, which is not included in the tour price. Those interested in riding can share the cost, while others may prefer a relaxing walk along the shores of Issyk Kul Lake before departure. The ride is suitable for all levels and offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains, with experienced guides ensuring your safety and comfort.
At 12:00 PM, depart from Issyk Kul and the yurt camp for the Kok-Moinok Canyons, a hidden gem known for its stunning rock formations and vibrant landscapes. Take an easy guided hike along a well-marked trail, allowing you to admire the unique geological formations and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. This hike is accessible to all fitness levels and offers fantastic photo opportunities.
On the way back to Bishkek, stop at a local restaurant for a relaxing lunch, where you can taste more of Kyrgyzstan’s delicious cuisine.
