This private visit is a privilege: you can get to know the most emblematic places in the center of Santander, but also, the visit goes much further, because it gives you the opportunity to know two of its most cultural and historical points of interest: the Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción and the Centro Botín, the most important art center of the city and international reference.
We will start with the Gardens of Pereda, the historical importance of the great fire that ravaged Santander and the exterior and interior visit of the Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción, the most important religious building in the capital.
Later we will tour the Town Hall Square, Porticada Square, passing the Church of “The Company” and knowing the East Market, gastronomic reference of the city.
At the end we will access the interior of the Botín Center, where we will make the guided tour of the fixed collection and move to the rooms where the temporary exhibitions are located.

The Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción is of Cultural Interest, of Gothic structure, being expanded and renovated in later centuries and in contemporary times, due to the consequences suffered by the explosion of the vessel Cabo Machichaco and the fire of Santander. We will know its exterior, its interior and its interesting history.
The Town Hall square and the local council building itself are located in the city's nerve center. It was built in the early 20th century, with an eclectic style.

The Centro Botín has been an international reference for contemporary art since its inauguration in 2017. Built by architect Renzo Piano, it houses a permanent collection and various temporary collections and you can admire works by artists such as Sorolla, Matisse, Juan Gris, Gutiérrez Solana, etc. Located in a privileged place next to the Bay, its objective is to make the arts contribute to the improvement of people and society.
