Enjoy the wonderful places that Santander has to offer, with a guide just for you and your family or friends. We will take a walking tour, which can be modified to suit you. Discover the history, customs and traditions of the Cantabrian capital.

We will begin with a visit to the Jardines de Pereda, next to the Santander extensions, where we will see the magnificent building of the Banco Santander and the internationally renowned art centre “Centro Botín”.

We will continue with an explanation of the fire in Santander, what it destroyed and what it left behind. To continue with the Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción.

In addition, we cannot forget the traditional Mercado de la Esperanza, next to the Town Hall.

We will continue towards the Plaza Porticada, passing by the Church of “La Compañía” and ending in the Plaza de Pombo, without leaving aside the Mercado del Este and the spectacular building of the old Banco Mercantil.

    We will visit the most important points located in the Pereda Gardens, such as the monument to José Mª Pereda, the Botín Center, the view of the bay next to the stone crane and the monument to the fire in Santander.

    In Plaza de la Asunción, we will have a privileged view of the Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción and its entrance to the church of Cristo. To the left is the central post office building and in front of the cathedral, Calle Calvo Sotelo, one of the most commercial streets in the city.

    Walking along Calvo Sotelo Street, we will reach the Town Hall Square, where we will admire the eclectic architecture of this building. Going around it, we will walk next to the Mercado de la Esperanza, the most emblematic of the city, to continue along one of the main shopping streets: Juan de Herrera.

    Walking along Juan de Herrera Street, we will admire the façade of the Church of "La Compañía" and access the Plaza Porticada, home to some of the most important official buildings and the former location of the Santander International Festival.
