Our Guide will meet you at the Metro Entrance
Your experience begins at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Station – Vidhana Soudha, where our guide welcomes you for a walk through Bengaluru’s political and judicial heart. Admire the grand Vidhana Soudha, Karnataka’s state legislature, known for its majestic Neo-Dravidian architecture and the famous quote “Government Work is God’s Work.” Along the way, explore statues of iconic leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Basavanna, each representing India’s rich political and social legacy. Next, view Vikasa Soudha, a modern extension symbolizing administrative progress. Finally, marvel at the red colonial-style Karnataka High Court, or Attara Kacheri, facing Vidhana Soudha and representing justice. This tour offers a rich blend of history, architecture, and leadership all in one inspiring stroll.
Next, head to the vibrant KR Market, one of Asia’s largest flower markets and the beating heart of old Bengaluru. Walk through lanes bursting with color, fragrance, and local life. Witness hundreds of vendors selling fresh flowers, fruits, spices, and traditional items in a bustling, chaotic yet charming atmosphere. Our guide will share fascinating stories about the market’s origins during the British era, its evolution over time, and its vital role in the city’s economy and culture. It’s a sensory and historical experience you won’t forget!
On the way to our next stop, you’ll catch an outside view of the historic Bangalore Fort. Originally built in 1537 by Kempe Gowda I as a mud fort and later reinforced with stone by Hyder Ali in the 18th century, this fort once marked the stronghold of the Mysore rulers. Though much of it was dismantled during British rule, the remaining bastions and gate stand as silent witnesses to the city’s military past. Your guide will point it out and share the fort’s role in Bengaluru’s strategic and political history.
Our next stop is the sacred Dodda Ganapathi Temple in Basavanagudi, one of Bengaluru’s oldest neighborhoods. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is famous for its massive monolithic idol, which is about 18 feet high and 16 feet wide. According to legend, the idol was discovered in the 16th century during the reign of Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bengaluru. Over the years, the temple has become a cherished spiritual site for devotees seeking blessings for new beginnings and the removal of obstacles. Your guide will explain its cultural and religious importance in local life.
We end our experience at the iconic Bull Temple (Dodda Basavana Gudi), just a short walk from Dodda Ganapathi Temple. Built in the 16th century by Kempe Gowda I, this Dravidian-style temple is dedicated to Nandi, the sacred bull and vehicle of Lord Shiva. The temple houses one of the largest Nandi idols in the world, carved from a single granite rock. Your guide will share the legends surrounding the temple, including the story of the growing bull that inspired its construction. After exploring, we’ll relax nearby with some local snacks or filter coffee, soaking in the old-Bangalore charm, and then wrap up the tour with warm memories and great stories to take home.
