Tenerife: Canarian Cooking Class with Iconic Local Dishes

In this culinary workshop and tasting event, you will create delicious traditional Canarian dishes from local, fresh ingredients and enjoy the authentic taste while listening to entertaining stories of the evolvement of the dishes. Want to find out how King Alfonso X 'The Wise' was involved? What did the ancient Romans have to do with the iconic Canary Islands mojo? What is the contribution of sensual Arab culinary experiences to the Canarian flavors?
Derived from an ancient merchant route hub this unique blend of aboriginal, African, European, and American influences has created the famous cornerstones of Canarian kitchen: papas arrugadas with mojo sauces, carne de cabra, goat cheese and bienmesabe, paired with local wines. Canarian cuisine is one of Spain's best-kept secrets, rather different from mainland Spanish kitchen.
We are located in the truly historical village of Chirche in South Tenerife. The instructor of the workshop is Chef Ave, with her long-standing experience as the chef de cuisine on cruise lines. The workshop includes hands-on activities.
