  Led by our expert local guide, your journey will continue through the vibrant Via Nassa, one of the most iconic streets in Lugano. It is renowned for its elegant arcades, that provide shelter to pedestrians as they stroll through, making it ideal for all-weather, and cultural significance: mixture of Renaissance and modern architecture. It’s also home to several historic buildings, such as churches and old palaces, providing a glimpse into Lugano's past.

  While your guide leads you through the lake promenade, you will immerse yourself in picturesque views of the lake with a backdrop of majestic mountains and graceful white swans gliding through the crystal blue waters. While seeing the boats of tourists sailing to and from, you will have this postcard worthy beauty imprinted in your memory for all time. Your tour then continues to the former Grand Hotel Lugano, LAC Exhibition Centre and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli.

  To conclude the historical part of the tour, the final spots will be: - The Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli, that is famous for its impressive frescoes, particularly those by the artist Bernardino Luini, depicting scenes from the life of Christ. The church is an architectural gem, combining Gothic and Renaissance styles. - The old San Franciscan convent, that was the part of the church will tell its own story with the old frescos that even survived the epoch of Grand Hotel Lugano. - The modern LAC, which will summarise the architectural style of Lugano, giving it a splendid and contemporary touch.

  Monte San Salvatore

  After exploring the old city's history together with your guide, you will take the included funicular ( cablecar ) trip up to the summit of San Salvatore (2 992ft). The ride itself is an experience, offering panoramic views of the lake, mountains, and surrounding valleys as you ascend. On the mountain summit you enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant with a wonderful view. The menu varies daily and typically features local Swiss cuisine, such as hearty risottos, polenta, pastas, and fresh salads - all prepared with seasonal ingredients. After your meal the guide will take you to the highest point of mountain, where the horizon offers a 360-degree view, allowing you to take in the diverse landscapes — from rolling hills to rugged mountain ridges — making each angle unique and captivating. At the end of the tour, the cableway takes you to the bottom where you can continue enjoy the beautiful day on the Lugano Lake shore.
