What to expect
We’ll begin with a warm Moroccan welcome over a cup of traditional mint tea and local sweets. I’ll share the history of Islamic calligraphy, its importance in Moroccan culture, and the role it plays in both religion and art. You’ll learn how the intricate designs reflect Morocco’s blend of spirituality and tradition, setting the stage for a unique, hands-on experience.
Next, I’ll introduce you to the tools of the trade: traditional reed pens, known as “qalams,” and high-quality ink. You’ll learn about different calligraphy styles and how each one conveys a unique feel.
