Howdy y'all!
Beautiful autumn weather is finally here!
Greenbelter Nature Co. safari's will show you a part of Austin or the Hill Country from a native's perspective.
Come and join us for a fun and easy hike through one of the area's greenbelts.
The Texas Hill Country is growing very rapidly, and folks are trying to find some really cool places in nature to check out and know about for future swims, hikes and nature adventures. We explore areas along the Violet Crown Trail in Central Austin, as well as neighboring parts of the Hill Country.
Wisdom of the lands will be shared, such as Eliza Springs and Barton Springs, as well as the native plants and wildlife, salamanders, bobcats, and armadillos! You will learn the scientific names of such plants and critters as well as the traditional "Texan" lingo for such species. Fun for the whole family, come take a hike!
P.S. A portion of our proceeds go to the Austin Parks Foundation to support future activities and concerts in the parks!
During this Safari hike along Barton Creek, you will see a 1.5 mile(3 miles there and back) stretch of Austin's beloved "Greenbelt." Along this stretch will be a couple of caves and a couple of swimming holes. Twin Falls and Sculpture Falls will be scene along the route. With the option to travel another .75 miles to the Hill of Life or Hidden Falls up the creek near the Lost Creek portion of the Barton Creek Greenbelt.
On one of our Greenbelter Safari Hike options you can take a hike through the hilltops nearby historic St. Edwards University and beyond. This hike will go through nature preserve land in Central East Austin only a few miles from downtown or the airport. Great for tourists who would like to see where long time Austinite's like to go hiking. Volcanic overlook, enchanted forest, c'mon what are you waiting for! :)
This ole timey Austin ranch converted into a park along beautiful Lake Austin makes a perfect place for a hike. Scenic trails along the river and plenty of world class birding(may even see a bald eagle!) Come hike with us on the old cow trails, probably my favorite spot in all of Austin to hike and swim.
