5Fatehpur Sikri
Next, drive to Fatehpur Sikri, a stunning fortified ancient city located 40 kilometers west of Agra. This short-lived capital of the Mughal Empire was the seat of Emperor Akbar between 1572 and 1585. Akbar had visited the village of Sikri to seek the blessings of the Sufi Saint Shaikh Salim Chishti, who foretold the birth of an heir to the Mughal throne.
