On this two-hour kayaking expedition in Goa explore the mangroves of Spike’s River. Watch frolicking otters and countless crabs as you paddle your way under the low hanging branches of the thick forest. Listen to the bells of a nearby temple and the chirping of birds. Stop in the middle of the forest to take in the sights and sounds of this nature’s paradise.

What to expect

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Spike’s Bridge, the starting point of your kayaking expedition.

Upon arrival get acquainted with other members of the expedition. Your instructor will brief you on the water currents and the flora and fauna to be seen along the way. Next get into your kayaks and start paddling.

When the mangroves are flooded, you can make your way deep into the tangle. Look around for nesting birds and lone fishermen catching crabs, fish or putting down crab traps. Paddle along with the tide and stop under trees along the way. You can see several species of birds like Kingfishers, Ospreys, Sea Eagles, Lapwings, Egrets, Herons, Cormorants and more.

Take a short break under the shade of a tree to enjoy some juice and munch on your snacks.

Then turn around for your journey back to the starting point near Spike’s Bridge. At the end of the tour you will be driven back to your hotel.
