In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Bangalore and driven to Coorg. En route, you’ll stop to visit the Tibetian settlement at Bylekuppe. This Tibetan settlement area was established by Lugsum Samdupling in 1961. Bylekuppe is situated to the west of the Mysore District in Karnataka. It is home to the magnificent Namdroling Monastery, known locally as the Golden Temple. The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centers in existence today. It is home to over 3000 monks and nuns. Upon arrival in Coorg, you will check into your hotel. Your evening is at leisure to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Today you will enjoy sightseeing in Coorg. Your first stop is to Abbey Falls. Nestled near Madikeri, Abbey Falls stands surrounded by a blanket of greenery. The waterfall is located between private coffee plantations and spice estates. You may view the spectacular Abbey Falls from a man made hanging bridge.
Our next visit is to Madikeri Fort, a historical landmark of Coorg. The fort stands in the center of Madikeri town, still preserving the remnants of the past. Some of the elevated structures inside the fort offer astounding views of the surrounding areas. The Madikeri Fort was constructed in the later part of the 17th century by Muddu Raja, the king of Coorg at the time. The imposing structure has offers a rich historical heritage.
