You will be driven to the City Palace located in the center of the city of Jaipur. Upon arrival, your private guide will escort you to Chandra Mahal, the most stately palace of the entire complex that continues to serve as a residence for the former royals of Jaipur. Each of the seven stories of the palace is decorated around a different theme. The walls are resplendent with frescoes done by an Italian Master artist and painted by the famous German artist, A.H. Muller. The verandah overlooks the sprawling Jai Niwas gardens. Shobha Niwas (Gold Room) on the 4th floor is a piece of art created with fine gold and wall mirrors. The blue tiles of the room are ornamented with mica and gold leaf. Visit Chavi Niwas (Blue Room) on the 5th floor. The walls are painted with floral patterns in blue and white color to depict the reflection of clouds in the sky. The Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) on the 6th floor is one of the finest examples of Mughal art work decorated with mirrors and gold. Also visit Sukh Niwas that contains the drawing and dining rooms of the royal residence. The walls in these rooms were decorated with gold work over 200 years ago. The rooms are full of Royal memorabilia and also have the famous Lalique Peacock table which is an incredible piece specially made for the Royal Family of Jaipur by the world renowned Marc Lalique. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of tea at the rooftop pavilion that offers a panoramic view of the city. At the end of the tour you will be driven back to your hotel.
