    Mattancherry Palace

    a 400-year-old synagogue, ancient mosques, Portuguese houses and the crumbling remains of the British Raj. You will visit the Portuguese church built by St. Francis in 1562, the Jewish Synagogue, the famed Mattancherry Palace, and learn about the Chinese fishing nets. Later depart for Munnar.     Tea Gardens

    Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it is surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. In the morning, enjoy a tour of Munnar and a visit to the Tea gardens. Afternoon is at leisure.

    Munnar / Thekkady

    After breakfast, depart for Thekkady, the location of the Periyar National Park. This unique wildlife sanctuary is about 300 square miles and centered around an artificial lake fed by the Periyar River. It is famous for its dense evergreen forests and savanna grass lands. Home to herds of elephants, sambar deer, tigers, gaur (Indian bison), lion tailed Macaques and Nilgiri Langurs, Thekkady is also considered a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Then, visit one of the spice plantations at Thekkady. In the evening, enjoy the varied flora and fauna as you cruise along the waterways of this tropical ecological reserve.

    Kerala Backwaters

    After breakfast, leave for Kumarakom. The village is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake. You will embark on to your Houseboat. The backwaters in Kerala are a world of serenity and wonderment. This coastal region has a network of waterways, inlets from the sea, and estuaries of over forty rivers, lakes and natural canals connecting coastal towns. The interlinked body of waterways is known as the Kerala Backwaters. Over 550 miles of the Kerala backwaters are navigable and have been used for centuries by the local people for transportation. You will enjoy the scenery of this unique eco-region as you cruise these waters.
